The Top 10 Secrets of Successful Authors
Judy Cullins

If you are not a successful author yet, incorporate the following 10 Secrets:
1. Treat your book as a business.
You spend many hours creating a masterpiece to help your audience. It follows then, you need to set up a regular time schedule to market and promote it.
2. Create a flyer for each book you offer.
Hand out your flyer at business meetings or at any public place. Ask your audience to pass the flyer along to friends and associates. Offer one free report or ezine on the flyer to get new email addresses to send promotion to later.
3. Create a line or two about your book in your signature file that goes on every email you send.
After your name, title, and benefit statements, add something like: eBk: "Write your eBook or Other Book--Fast!" Include your addresses and phone numbers too.
4. Invest some money in book marketing.
Contact a book coach and schedule a low-cost introductory session to see if you are a match and will get what you need. Many authors print too many copies or use an expensive service to get book finished instead of putting aside an equal amount to market it.
5. Take a teleclass on how to market your book.
These low cost and low time investments can make your book the great seller it should be. Discover inexpensive ways to market via the phone and email. How convenient!
6. Dont get fooled by high-cost services.
If its too good to be true, it isnt true. When you hire someone to do it all for you, it can cost over $1000 a month with small results. Check out what services fit your budget, and get a realistic picture of what your results will be.
7. Delegate some of the marketing.
Like me, hire a low-cost computer assistant from your local high school. They know more than many professionals. For under $10 an hour, you can multiply your promotion exponentially via ecommerce your assistant does for you 2-3 times a week.
8. Set a dollar goal for your book each month.
Dont count copies sold. Count each months book sales. Put your goal near your workstation to remind you of what you want. Dont price your book too low, so youll appreciate an easy experience--getting what you deserve for all your work.
9. Learn more about Internet book marketing.
Think about reaching hundreds of thousands of your audience every week. When you give them what they want--free information--they will eventually buy. Many authors go the traditional path of talks, ads or press releases. They dont always pay well for the effort.
10. Dont stop marketing.
Many clients come to me and say they are discouraged their book didnt sell well in four months. Replace doubt with patience for the process. Success takes many months, but once you get it, the Internet keeps it multiplied for you.
Knowing the secrets of successful authors can help you receive the same prestige and become a household word.

Top 10 Reasons Why I Reject Article Submissions plus articles and information on diet

Top 10 Reasons Why I Reject Article Submissions
Chris Yates

Each week I receive dozens of article submissions to my websites from aspiring authors, website owners, and entrepreneurs. Unfortunately, I can only use a small fraction of the articles I receive because the writers are making one of the crucial mistakes listed below.
KEY POINT: When you submit articles to a newsletter/ezine publisher or a website owner, you have to remember that we arent going to publish YOUR article for OUR customers and visitors unless it is a high quality article that gives something of value.
If youre writing articles like crazy, but getting very few of them actually published, then you might want to re-evaluate your approach. Are you making one of these crucial mistakes
1. Poor Subject Matter:
If youre going to bother to write an article, write about something that were interested in reading about. In other words, address a problem and provide a solution. Articles that approach an old problem in a new way or with a new twist work well too -- you dont have to necessarily discover a whole new problem that no one else has ever though of before If you discover a whole new problem and have the solution you better be thinking of product creation not just an article!.
2. Write with personality:
No one likes to read text books. Put a little of your own personality into your writing and make it engaging and entertaining as well as informative. If you have a sense of humor, use it. You have a good chance of being published on one of my sites if you make me giggle... Belly laughs are nearly guaranteed to be published.
3. Write for your audience:
Dont send an article about the value of protein in the American diet to a Russian Political website or the publisher of a podiatry newsletter... They dont care.
4. Write a decent sized article:
I would much rather an article be a little bit too long than very short. Four hundred word articles just dont have enough meat in them. Im not suggesting that you ramble, but youve got to give me some details if you want me to publish your piece.
5. Break up your article:
Dont write your article in three long paragraphs. Break it up into smaller paragraphs with a few single lines, bullets, etc. to make it easier and more enjoyable to read. Again -- no one likes to read text books.
6. Spell Check and Grammar:
I dont mind correcting a couple of mixed up letters now and then, but lets be reasonable -- spell check your articles. Grammar is another thing that bugs me. I know that I dont always get it perfect myself, but your grammar has to be reasonable. Some of the people sending me articles need to take a high school English class.
One last point in this category is word usage -- dont use words in your article unless you actually know what they mean. Using big words doesnt necessarily make you look smarter. Did you know that newspapers are aimed at a sixth grade reading level
7. Stop sending sales letters:
No one will publish an article that reads like a sales letter... period.
8. Forget about affiliate links:
Use your head... why would anyone use your article if its full of your affiliate links Ever hear of the "Golden Rule" This is kind of the "Golden Rule" of writing articles -- dont expect someone else to do something that you wouldnt do. Would you publish another writers article if it were full of his affiliate links I doubt it.
9. Create a reasonable resource box:
A resource box should tell me who you are, what you do, and how I can get in touch with you. Its not unlimited advertising space for you to describe every website you run and each product you sell. Dont bother sending an article where the resource box is half as long as the article itself. That "Golden Rule" thing applies to resource boxes too.
10. Only write about what you know:
Even if youre writing an opinion piece, get your facts straight. Dont write an article filled with advice that you have no business giving.
If you take nothing else away from this article, remember that good copy always answers "Whats in it for me" When youre writing articles to send to newsletter and website publishers, you have to answer that question on two fronts...
Whats in it for the publisher Why should they show your article to their customers and visitors Does it give something of value
-- AND --
Whats in it for the people who will ultimately be reading your article when its published
After all, the idea is to provide some worthy content that compels readers to visit your site, subscribe to your newsletter, or buy your product. So next time you send an article, whats in it for me

10 First Rate Tips To Getting More Ezine Subscribers
Ken Hill

1. Submit your ezine to ezine directories.

Ezine directories attract people interested in subscribing to ezines that provide them with information about their interests such as marketing, affiliate programs, gardening, or staying healthy.

In addition, ezine directories will help you to find people to buy advertising in your publication as well as other publishers who would like to swap ads or do a joint venture with you.

2. Promote your ezine in your signature file. Include a couple lines of promotion for your ezine in addition to the other information in your sig file.

3. Add a subscription box for your ezine on every page of your site. This will ensure that whatever page your visitors enter your site from, they will be able learn about your ezine and subscribe to your publication.

4. Provide a bonus for subscribing to your ezine such as an ebook, report, tutorial, marketing course, or access to your subscribers only membership site.

Mention your bonus when promoting your ezine on your site, in your signature file, and when submitting your publication to ezine directories.

5. Buy classified ads or sponsor ads for your publication in ezines that you are already subscribed to and enjoy reading.

Also search ezine directories for ezines that reach your target market and offer reasonable advertising rates.

6. Swap ads with other ezine publishers. Be specific when asking for your ad swap. Clearly define where you will place the other publishers ad and ask the other publisher to place the same ad for you.

Also ask for confirmation of your ad and a copy of the issue your ad will run in, and provide the other publisher with a copy of her ad and a copy of the issue you run her ad in.

To get the most out of your swaps trying swapping ads for at least 3 issues in a row and track your swaps, so that you will be able to pinpoint which ads and ezines give you the best response.

7. Use your articles to promote your ezine. Add a resource box that advertises your ezine to articles that youve written and run in your ezine or write articles specifically for promoting your ezine.

Next submit your articles to other ezine publishers, to article directories, and to article announcement lists.

8. Use autoresponders to promote your ezine to your visitors. Make sample issues of your ezine available by autoresponder or use your autoresponders to create an archive of all your past issues.

9. Publish testimonials/endorsements for your ezine on your site. If youve received tons of these for your ezine, use an autoresponder to deliver them to your visitors.

10. Swap recommendations with other ezine publishers. You could swap recommendations where the other publisher puts her recommendation of your ezine in her own words while you do the same for her.

You could also publish a recommended ezines section if you wanted to swap recommendations with several other ezines interested in swapping recommendations with each other.

10 Winning Ezine Publishing Tips
Ken Hill

1. Share your personality with your subscribers. Your subscribers are more likely to want to buy from someone they feel like they know.
2. Involve your subscribers in your ezine by asking them to send in their profiles, tips and advice, or by asking them to send in their articles for publication in your ezine.
3. Include testimonials or endorsements for your business within your ezine.
Ask for feedback within your ezine and on your site to gather more of these for your products or services.
4. Periodically run surveys or polls that give you direction on where to take your ezine.
Keep your polls or surveys short and to the point. Only ask questions you need to know at the time.
Also provide a bonus or freebie for taking your polls or surveys to increase the number of your readers that participate in them.
5. Write articles. Your articles will give you an effective way to share your tips and expertise with your subscribers.
Your articles can also be used as a powerful promotional tool that boosts your subscriptions.
6. Run an "Ask The Editor" section.
This section will not only provide answers or solutions to your subscribers questions but is also an excellent way to increase your status as an expert in your field.
7. Provide a bonus or freebie for subscribing to your ezine. You could provide ebooks, email courses, or access to your membership site as a bonus for subscribing.
8. Provide your subscribers with special sales on advertising in your ezine.
Your subscriber only specials will help you to get more of your subscribers to purchase ads for the first time and will also help you to get more of your subscribers to advertise in your ezine on a consistent basis.
9. Promote affiliate programs to your subscribers by recommending their products.
If youve already gained the trust of your subscribers, writing recommendations will be very effective in increasing your commissions. Only recommend products that you know deliver.
10. Swap recommendations with other ezine publishers.
You could recommend another publishers ezine in your own words in exchange for that publisher doing the same for you.
You could also set up a recommended ezine section where you and several other ezine publishers promote each others ezines.
In addition, you could successfully increase your subscriptions by swapping recommendations in your welcome message or on your "thank you" page that your new subscribers are taken to after subscribing to your ezine.

	Loan Types
Loan Amount Qualification, Income
Loan Amount Qualification, Expenses
Employment and Credit History

1. Use a hand written letter on your ad copy instead of text. Write the ad on a piece of paper, scan it and publish the ad on your web page. Adding a personal touch will always increase your sales.
2. Publish a list of famous and respected customers who have bought from you on your a copy. People will think that if these people bought from you, they should also trust your business and purchase your products. Make sure to get their permission first.
3. Show before and after photos for your products on your web page copy. Show the problem picture and then beside it, show the picture of the resolution to the problem when they use your product.
4. Include an article or review that has been written about you or your business with your ad copy. This will show people that your business is respected and will increase your credibility.
5. When you offer free bonuses in your ad copy, also list the dollar value beside each bonus. People will feel theyre getting a good deal and it will increase the value of your product.
6. Hire a famous person to endorse your product or service. Make sure the person is well known to your target audience. Include their picture and statements on your ad copy.
7. Include your own picture on your ad copy. This will show people that youre not hiding behind your ad copy and will increase their trust. Also, include your contact information below the picture and a brief statement or quote.
8. Tell your potential customers on your ad copy that you will donate a percentage of their purchase price to specific charity. This will show them you really care about the people. They may just buy your product to donate to the charity.
9. Ask your potential customers plenty of yes and no questions in your ad copy. The questions should remind them of their problem and make them think about what will happen if they dont purchase your product.

10 Benefits Of Submitting Your Articles To Ezines
Frank bauer

1. Youll brand your web site, business and yourself by submitting articles to ezines. You could include your name, business name, your credentials, web site address and e-mail address in your resource box.
To find publisher you can submit your articles to, you can simply visit Google and enter a keyword phase that describes your target market e.g. business owner plus the work newsletter or ezine: +"business owner" +newsletter
2. You will become known as an expert on the topics you write about. This will give you and your business extra credibility which will help you compete against your competition.
3. Your article might also be placed on the publishers home page. If they publish each issue on their home page this will give you some extra exposure.
To make it easier for the publisher, provide also an URL to a web page with your article on it. The easier it is for the publisher to use your article, the higher the chances that they will do it.
4. You might get extra exposure if the ezine publisher archives their ezine on their site. People might want to read the back issues before they make the decision to subscribe.
5. You will get free advertising. This will allow you to spend your profits on other forms of advertising. You could buy advertisements in other ezines that dont publish your articles.
6. You might get extra income from people wanting to hire you to write other articles, books, or even ask to speak at seminars. This is a great way to multiply your incom^e.
7. You could allow ezine publishers to publish your articles in their free e-books. Since people give them away, your advertising could multiply all over the internet.
8. You will get your article published all over the web when you submit it to an ezine publisher that has a free content directory on their web site. Theyll allow their visitors to republish your article.
Another option would be to submi^t your article to article directories. To find article directories that you can submit your articles to, you can again simply visit Google and search for: "article directory"
9. Youll gain peoples trust. If they read your article and like it, they wont be as hesitant to buy your product or service. You will then be able to increase your profits.
10. You could get your article guaranteed to run in an ezine. You could agree to run one of their articles in your ezine if, in exchange, they run yours in their ezine. Its a win/win situation.
Tip: If your article recommends one of your own resources, offer the publisher a percentage of each sale for publishing your article. This could be done by using a special order link, or if you have an affiliate program, by allowing the publisher use his one affiliate link.
Resources:
To find publishers quick and easy, you can use a service like the Directory of Ezines at: http://add2it.com/see.plezines
To submit your articles to numerous article directories and to save you the time to fill out the forms manually at their sites I personally use and recommend the EzineAnnouncer software. You can find it at: http://add2it.com/see.plEzineAnnouncer
Reprint rights to this article are granted, as long as it is not modified and the resources plus this signature remain unchanged.
