Garret Tupa Jr

Every year the Astros say next year, will its next year, and the Astros and the fans are ready. This year the Astros look ready to fight for it all. What will really happen this year Injuries can be a key factor for them this year. Jeff Bagwell and Craig Biggio will have to step up to the challenge and have great years. Bagwell is still putting up the power numbers as he hit 39 homers and batted in 100 RBIs last season, but the BA has slipped down to .278. As for Biggio, hes a fighter. Biggio led the league last season with 27 HBPhit by pitch.
Look for Brad Ausmus to turn around last seasons horrible hitting.229 BA and have a good season at the plate, and behind the plate this season. Jason Lane, Orlando Palmeiro, and Jose Vizciano will the the best trio off the bench in the National League this season. Berkman, Hildago, Kent and Ensberg will have great all-around seasons. Adam Everett will struggle but find his way this season. The bats will be very exciting, runs will be plentiful.
The astros will have two 20 game winners this year and could end up with the best staff in the league. Oswalt, Pettite, Clemens, Miller and Tim Redding will be the rotation for the Stros this season. Oswalt, if he can stay injury free is one of the top pitchers in the game and Andy Pettite won 21 games last season. Clemens is a future hall-of-famer and could put up 15+ wins. The relief pitching could struggle at first but will get there act together in time to make a run for the playoffs. Octavio Dotel will take over the closing role with Billy Wagner in Philly now. Dotel was one of the premier set-up men last season and he has to turn into one of the premier closers this season.
In all, fans should get there tickets early and often. The 2004 Houston Astros will fight for a World Series birth. I think the Astros will end up with 95 wins. The Astros will be in the World Series against the New York Yankees, and game seven will be a game for the ages. This is the year that every fan can be proud to say "The Astros are my team".

Anyone who has spent a day fasting from food, or who has even skipped a meal, knows just how much time we save when we are not provisioning and consuming meals. Of course, efficiency is not our only concern when it comes to eating. If we were to articulate our fundamental requirements for food, we would probably come up with the following: 1 it should give us the nutrition our bodies need; 2 it should support our body transformation goals e.g. lose fat or gain muscle; 3 it should taste good; 4 it should be convenient. Foods that meet two or three of these requirements quickly become a mainstay in most diets.
Kenny Hemphill

Thinking about getting an HDMI DVD player Whether youve heard t he buzz surrounding the latest generation of DVD players or have an HDTV and want a player to connect it to, the information on this page will help.

HDMI stands for High Definition Multimedia Interface. Its the standard connector for high definition TV and video kit and is a lossless, all-digital audio/ video interface which as well as supporting HD content also carries standard definition SD and enhanced definition ED video.

Deciding which HDMI DVD player to get is becoming more difficult as more and more devices arrive on the market. Prices range from a very reasonable $200 or so for the Toshiba SD-5970 to a couple of thousand dollars for devices at the high-end.

The Toshiba HDMI DVD player, like the other high definition players, up-converts the DVD-Video content on regular DVD discs to either 720p or 1080i high definition resolution. As well as do everything you would expect of a DVD player, the Toshiba SD-5970 has a couple of tricks up its sleeve. Its progressive scan output, when connected to an HDTV using the HDMI connector, provides twice the number of scan lines present on a normal DVD picture. This means higher resolution, sharper and flicker free images which have none of the motion artifacts, such as stepping, often seen on less expensive DVD players.

Also, the SD-5970 performs, whats known as 3:2 pulldown reversal. This basically means that it corrects the distorion which is caused by translating 24 frames per second film to 30 frames per second video.

The Toshibe SD-5970 is relatively inexpensive for an HDMI DVD player, yet it marks a huge leap in terms of improvement in image quality. More expensive players are better still and best of all, becasue this is a relatively new market prices are sure to fall making even a very good HDMI DVD player within the reach fo any DVD enthusiast.

Mike Cheney

Want to avoid being blacklisted by the search engines and banished to the sin bin never to receive a single search engine visitor ever again Thought so. Heres some tips to help you..
Tip 1 - Hide And Seek
Do not use hidden text on your website. This means having words and phrases in your pages somewhere that cant be seen to the naked eye. The tactic of having text on your page that is the same colour as the background, and is therefore hidden, will almost certainly result in your wanted poster being pinned up by most search engines.
Tip 2 - Your Website Is Not A Turkey
Do not cram your hands full of keywords and phrases and start trying to stuff them into your websites... pages. You need to have some phrases in there, yes, but dont overdo it. The search engine owners spend millions every year on their software so guess what - they know when youre trying to beat the system!
Tip 3 - Man vs. The Machines
Do not build your website for the search engine robots - build it for those squishy pink things - human beings! If you focus too much on having a search engine optimised site you can quickly lose track of why your website is there in the first place - to generate you business by people visiting it and doing what you want them to do. Would you create a new reception area in your office that was tailored specifically to the floor-waxing machine so it could get the best access No. You would build it for people - do the same with your website.
Tip 3.5 - Dont Be A Bunny Boiler
Do not start pinning up pictures in your dark room of each search engine and then start stalking them by submitting your website every day, week or even month. Search engines hate this - if you over-step the mark youll be well on the way to that blacklist.. You only need to submit your website to most search engines just one time - ever. Once its done, its done. Despite what some experts might tell you - you dont need to constantly re-submit your site.

Googles Next Big Move
David Leonhardt

November 2003 might go down in history as the month that Google shook a lot of smug webmasters and search engine optimization SEO specialists from the apple tree. But more than likely, it was just a precursor of the BIG shakeup to come.
Google touts highly its secret PageRank algorithm. Although PageRank is just one factor in choosing what sites appear on a specific search, it is the main way that Google determines the "importance" of a website.
In recent months, SEO specialists have become expert at manipulating PageRank, particularly through link exchanges.
There is nothing wrong with links. They make the Web a web rather than a series of isolated islands. However, PageRank relies on the naturally "democratic" nature of the web, whereby webmasters link to sites they feel are important for their visitors. Google rightly sees link exchanges designed to boost PageRank as stuffing the ballot box.
I was not surprised to see Google try to counter all the SEO efforts. In fact, I have been arguing the case with many non-believing SEO specialists over the past couple months. But I was surprised to see the clumsy way in which Google chose to do it.
Google targeted specific search terms, including many of the most competitive and commercial terms. Many websites lost top positions in five or six terms, but maintain their positions in several others. This had never happened before. Give credit to Barry Lloyd of www.SearchEngineGuide.com for cleverly uncovering the process.
For Google, this shakeup is just a temporary fix. It will have to make much bigger changes if it is serious about harnessing the "democratic" nature of the Web and neutralizing the artificial results of so many link exchanges.
Here are a few techniques Google might use remember to think like a search engine:

Google might start valuing inbound links within paragraphs much higher than links that stand on their own. For all we know, Google is already doing this. Such links are much less likely to be the product of a link exchange, and therefore more likely to be genuine "democratic" votes.
Google might look at the concentration of inbound links across a website. If most inbound links point to the home page, that is another possible indicator of a link exchange, or at least that the sites content is not important enough to draw inbound links and it is content that Google wants to deliver to its searchers.
Google might take a sample of inbound links to a domain, and check to see how many are reciprocated back to the linking domains. If a high percentage are reciprocated, Google might reduce the sites PageRank accordingly. Or it might set a cut-point, dropping from its index any website with too many of its inbound links reciprocated.
Google might start valuing outbound links more highly. Two pages with 100 inbound links are, in theory, valued equally, even if one has 20 outbound links and the other has none. But why should Google send its searchers down a dead-end street, when the information highway is paved just as smoothly on a major thoroughfare
Google might weigh a websites outbound link concentration. A website with most outbound links concentrated on just a few pages is more likely to be a "link-exchanger" than a site with links spread out across its pages.

Google might use a combination of these techniques and ones not mentioned here. We cannot predict the exact algorithm, nor can we assume that it will remain constant. What we can do is to prepare our websites to look and act like a website would on a "democratic" Web as Google would see it.
For Google to hold its own against upstart search engines, it must deliver on its PageRank promise. Its results reflect the "democratic" nature of the Web. Its algorithm must prod webmasters to give links on their own merit. That wont be easy or even completely possible. And people will always find ways to turn Googles algorithm to their advantage. But the techniques above can send the Internet a long way back to where Google promises it will be.
The time is now to start preparing your website for the changes to come.

How to Jumpstart your Next Writing Session plus articles and information on writing

How to Jumpstart your Next Writing Session
David Parton

I have always enjoyed writing. Sometimes it’s a problem for me to just sit down and write something. There are days when I choose “procrastinating” over “proactive.” Putting things off is common with everyone. I am very gifted in this area. ;
Here are 4 areas to focus on to jumpstart your next writing session.

	Concentration
Preparation
The First Word
Use your notebook

Concentration:
There are way too many distractions. Cell phones ringing, blaring car alarms and unexpected visitors are just a few things that can disrupt your concentration. It then becomes easier to justify not writing today.
The best thing to do to encourage creative writing is to make it a ritual. Find a nice spot to write, maybe, in a quiet room in your home where you will be left undisturbed for a period of time. Set a time to work; a scheduled time to write. Stick to it.
Keep reference books and materials close to hand.
Focus on one idea at a time.
View your next writing session as an opportunity; an opportunity to do something you enjoy. It can be fun. And when you are having fun nobody ever has to tell you to “concentrate!”
Preparation
Once you have your topic: Google it. Read everything you can online and offline related to your idea. Search the net for testimonials, reviews and articles about your topic. Brainstorm related sub-topics.
Give it a rest. Let your subconscious mind percolate and play with the information you provided. Get some exercise. Some of my best ideas come to me while I am out walking around in the evening.
Getting Started
Where to begin That blank page staring back can be intimidating.
Just dive right in there!
Type the word “The.”
Type the next word the first thing that pops into your mind and the next word.
At this point, quality is not important. You just want to create a “flow” where the words come easily.
Don’t stop to edit. Save all your corrections for the second draft. Resist the impulse to rewrite. That will only interrupt the flow and is another way to avoid the task at hand.
If you are like me you will have a 2nd, third and fourth draft. You have to get your first draft completed before your have anything to rewrite! Stay focused.
Carry a Notebook
As a creative writer, you will be “hit” by odd ideas and notions in the oddest of places.
Maybe you are stuck in traffic or brushing your teeth when inspiration strikes.
You could wake from a dream and have a killer idea.
“ I’ll remember that.” We say to ourselves, but when next we write there is no access to that memory file.
Just use a notebook. Jot those things down as they come to you. It only takes a moment.
Capture all your of your ideas as they transpire. Who knows One of them may be the “Next Big Thing!”

Why wait weeks or months to get paid by your clients when you can access your money in a matter of days by factoring your invoices. When a business factors their invoices, they are allowing a third party to purchase their invoices at a discount price. This discount is considered the third party

Yahoo Drops Google...How To Flood Your Site With Traffic In The Next 48 Hours
Rodney Boettger

It official Yahoo has dropped Google and will be using Inktomis results to power their directory.
Previously when you did a search at Yahoo the top sponsor ads are from Overture and the bulk "free listing" ads were supplied by Google.
A few months back Yahoo purchased Inktomi as well as Overture and the online community was just waiting for the day that Yahoo would power all its results in house.
That day is here...
Inktomi is a paid inclusion service. What this means is that you pay for each page you want included in the search engines.
Currently Inktomi powers MSN, About.com, HotBot, numerous other search engines and now Yahoo.
The submission charges are $39US for the first page and $25US for each additional page. This price covers your pages for a full year. This is a huge savings over going direct to Yahoo for $199 to $399 with no guarantee of any type of inclusion in their directory.
Your pages are guaranteed to be refreshed every 48 hours and included in all the engines powered by Inktomi.
Please keep in mind that this does not guarantee a certain rank within the search engines. This is why you only submit your best optimized pages.
To take advantage of this golden opportunity do the following:
1. Choose your best keyword optimized page or pages.
2. Go to http://www.All-Paid-Inclusions.com and set up your paid inclusion account.
3. Choose to submit to Inktomi and follow the step by step instructions.
4. Within the next 2 days log back into your paid inclusion account and verify that your pages are marked as "refreshed"
5. Check your rank in the various search engines for your optimized keywords
6. Tweak pages every 48 hours to get your desired results.
You now can cash in on the explosion of traffic from Yahoo within the next 48 hours.
No one knows how long this window of opportunity will last.
The opinion among search engine experts and those in the know is that Yahoo will raise the prices of Inktomi inclusions drastically and without warning.
If you use pay per clicks you may remember when Overture did this. At the time clicks were .05 minimum and they sent a notice stating effective immediately the minimum bid is .10 per click.
So dont wait around get your pages in now at the lower price. You can tweak them later.
