Targeted Traffic is More Important than Ever! – Domain Name

Targeted Traffic is More Important than Ever!
John Alexander

In the early days of web development, business owners had learned the very expensive lesson that a Web site with no visitors is of little value. Once the business owner learned that methods could be utilized to increase their visibility through search engine optimization, it then became apparent that the traffic that really benefited them, was "targeted traffic." It only made sense that if you were selling a solution, the person who will buy the solution are the ones experiencing a problem or challenge. It also became obvious that the best products and services to sell online were niche or specialized markets. Large volumes of "general visitors" general volume traffic may have looked nice on a statistics report but only the truly "targeted visitors" target traffic were usually the visitors making purchases or doing business at the Web site.
While some search engine marketers were simply offering placement for keywords chosen by their client, other SEOs realized the value of researching keyword phrases and built strategies that were focused on attracting a specific target market. This is why you would sometimes hear conflicting stories about the effectiveness of search engine marketing. People often had their sites optimized for the wrong phrases. These might be keyword phrases that attracted no traffic all or perhaps even keywords that attracted high traffic but the wrong audience. If targeted traffic was important for success back then, it is absolutely essential that we optimize for targeted traffic now. The reason is that as the web continues to age, peoples behaviour appears to be shifting again.
Plan for the current shift in online visitor behavior
The early online consumer compared to todays average user was thriving on search engine use most of the time. Theyd search out one site then search out another site and literally travel all over the place half of the time, unsure what they were even looking for. Back then people "surfed the net" but todays online consumer is not surfing as much. Todays online consumer is becoming educated much more quickly and a whole new trend of online branding is becoming more increasingly important according to a recent survey.
Volume traffic of any importance is decreasing.
A California-based research company Websidestory that measures Internet audiences, recently stated on Feb. 6 that "nearly 52 percent of Web surfers arrived at sites by direct navigation and bookmarks, compared with about 46 percent during the same period last year." Even compared to just last year, clearly more people KNOW where they want to go and are directly entering the web address into the browser.
What does this mean To me, it is a great indicator that people who have been online for a while, are developing business relationships. People just donr need to "surf" as much because once customers start doing business online and they like the service, why should they change If they are happy buying a product from www.barnesandnoble.com, are they not likely to go back and just type in the web address or use a bookmark As the web continues to mature, watch and see if a whole new wave of branding does not become of major importance on the Web of the future. Businesses who have chosen domain names that are easy to remember and have some branding built in, may see some significant increase.
Advantages for Search Engine Optimizers
The latest trends in Web behavior spell opportunity for some search engine marketers. These will be those SEOs who realize that targeted traffic are now and really have always been the only way to go. Someone recently asked me if I thought a decline in the use of search engines was bad news for the search engine optimization industry. I believe there will always be a need for good search engines. More and more, people will remember their favorite URL but this means that top placement and accurate relevancy will also be needed more than ever before. People searching the net dont care so much for paid ads, they want relevant search results. This is not to say that bid for placement search engines dont have some advantages, because they do.
SEOs who are going only after old fashioned, non-targeted general "volume traffic" just big numbers with no target audience, things are about to become much quieter, as more online consumers KNOW where they want to go.
However, for those SEO professionals who really know their craft, the "targeted traffic strategy" can still render pure gold to the Web site owner and these are the times when top relevancy mixed with a targeted strategy should place those search engine marketers in the know, in even higher demand. High and accurate search engine relevancy for any online business Web site, counts more than it ever has before.

8 Ways to Free Targeted Traffic – Site

8 Ways to Free Targeted Traffic
Steve S.

What good is your website if no one knows about it The reason most webmasters fail within their first year is because they overlook advertising and promotion. Just because you have a perfectly designed website does not mean that people will find it. It is not hard to produce a steady stream of targeted traffic, and it can be absolutely free if you do it right. Below are eight free ways to produce quality targeted traffic for your website.
1. Search Engines
Search Engines are one of the best sources for targeted traffic and potential customers, so search engines should be one of the biggest factors for advertising and promotion. Did you know that most people never click past the first page of search engines You need to be on the first page of search engines for your targeted keywords to generate targeted traffic. Getting your website to the top of search engines such as Google and Yahoo for free takes special methods called Search Engine Optimization SEO. Search Engines Optimization envolves many factors, such as Meta Tags, Inbound Links, tags, keywords, content, and PageRank. Since SEO is such an advanced field, HitsBam has written a completely seperate article entitled A Complete Guide to Search Engine Optimization to get you to the top of search engines for free.
2. Message Boards
Message Boards, or commonly known as forums, are great places to make partnerships with other webmasters and gain targeted traffic. First, create a signature post file with your name and URL so everytime you post a message, people will be interested in your website. Then introduce yourself slowly by posting useful information and answering questions. The more active you become in the forum, the better, because you will be known as an "expert", which gives you and your website a good reputation. Always remember to obide by the forums rules and NEVER spam them with your website. A good signature for a forum would look something like this:

---------------------------------------------
Your Name

http://www.yourwebsite.com

"A funny or catchy quote"
---------------------------------------------

3. Email Signatures
Imagine that every email you send out is advertising for your website. This can be a reality if you utilize email signatures. Almost every email program or website has this feature. You can use it when sending personal emails, business emails, when you email your clients, in your autoresponder, or any other email that is sent. Email Signatures are perfect to keep people coming back to your website because the signature reminds them that your website exists. Remember to never spam, it just is not worth it. A good email signature would look something like this:

---------------------------------------------
Your Name
Your Website Title

http://www.yourwebsite.com

"Your Slogan" or a Short Description
---------------------------------------------

4. Content
Content, Content, Content! Search engines are so sophisticated these days that the only real way to get on the top of search engines is to have good keyword-rich content. Not only will you recieve top rankings on search engines, people will actually want to visit your site, especially if the content is for free. You could also post your articles at ezines and websites and leave your link at the bottom. This lets people know that you are knowledgable and that they should visit your website, and it works suprisingly well to generate targeted traffic for free. You can make some real money selling links on your website if you have good content. Some websites with a PageRank of 7 or more sell links for $250+ a month! Dont forget to place your keywords all over your website and in your articles. The more keywords you incorporate into your content, the better, just make sure it is still an understandable article and not just an article full of keywords.
5. Start A Newsletter
Newsletters can be a great way to keep visitors comming back to your website. It is suggested that you send out a unique issue every week to keep reminding the customers that you are still here, but make sure each issue is different and has something to offer the reader, usually free information. Once you reach about 100 subscribers, the newsletter can become an income generator, as you can sell ad space on it. You can find some great free scripts for your newsletter at www.ACJavascripts.com.
6. Awards
Submitting your site to be chosen for awards is a great way to get people to find your website. If you happen to win a big award that fits the color scheme of your website, you could display it proudly on your front page showing your visitors that the website is reliable and has won awards. You can find out more about how to apply for awards with free software from http://www.market-tek.com/awardsite.html.
7. Free Stuff
Free stuff to offer your visitors is a great way to keep them comming back or to persuade them to buy your products. There are many things you can offer, such as email addresses, games, information, tips and hints, software, ebooks, and the list goes on. You could give away something that would compliment a sale for your product. An example would be to give away free information on how dirty air can cause health problems if you are selling air purifiers.
8. Traffic Swarm
We usually do not support traffic exchange programs and click for traffic programs, but we have found an exception. A program called Traffic Swarm has been one of our biggest targeted traffic producers. Its unique way of letting the surfer choose what site they want to visit has proven successful and has reflected its success to its members. They do offer a pro memebership that gives you bonus credits, 2000 credits per month, a featured site link, and much more. HitsBam highly suggests joining this free program.

The Benefits Of Targeted Traffic – Affiliate Programs

The Benefits Of Targeted Traffic
Adam Buhler

The key to success in the affiliate game is "targeted traffic" meaning that it is crucial to direct only those who are interested in your products or programs to your website. For instance, imagine two websites which we will call website A, and website B.

Website A gets 100,000 visitors monthly while website B gets 10,000 visitors per month. Which website do you think has the largest profit each month Of course its website A, right Wrong. While website A gets ten times the traffic of website B none of that is targeted traffic while website B attracts only those who are interested in the products it offers leading to much greater profits per month!

We offer many resources that demonstrate the power of "targeted traffic" and how to best achieve online success. The first thing that I want you to realize is that there is no silver bullet, or magical method to instantly guarantee that you will start making mega money from affiliate programs.

In fact, making serious money from affiliate programs isnt that easy at all... not in the beginning, anyway. Once you have established yourself, and have built a following of subscribers and repeat traffic... then it is much easier to simply mention a new product or service that you ran across, and have a bunch of new sales by the next morning. But...dont get discouraged, with a little effort and determination you will succeed!
